The Shift Change and Inventory Audit feature is activated on the website under Settings located on the left navigation panel and the Shift Change/Temperature tab.
Once activated, the
Narcbox can be used to track shift changes.
a shift change procedure, Select "Shift Change". The Incoming user will enter their PIN/RFID(or scan Bio) and then the Offgoing user will enter their PIN/RFID(or scan Bio). (If you wish to only use one user to perform a shift change or audit you will need to select that option on your online account under the Shift Change settings)
At this time the door will unlock (to check inventory), the NarcBox will prompt for entry of the first med inventory count. Enter the count press next to go to the next med. Once you have gone through all meds a confirmation screen will appear. Double check the count that was entered is correct. If done correctly press "Done" and "Save". If done incorrectly press "Cancel" and "Discard" to repeat the transaction.
At this time, the Narcbox sends the shift change
information to the server (or logs the event if no network connection is
available), and that shift change will show up in your accounts online reporting log with the date and time, identity of the medics involved and inventory count.
Inventory Audits mirrors the Shift Change function very closely. The difference is the verbiage where inventory audit will use PIN 1 and PIN 2 instead of Incoming PIN and Offgoing PIN. Whatever time you set for the shift change to be done at, your employees have 2 hours before and 2 hours after that time to be able to complete the shift change without notifying an admin that one was missed.

8/2019 - Improvement:
We have added a new feature to our Shift Change function. The DEA strongly encourages that an inventory count is completed at the time of a crew change, or at least once every 24 hour period. To better match this DEA request for agencies that run 48 hour and 72 hours shifts, we are are adding an option on the Narcbox called Inventory Audit. This will closely mimic shift change with a different title. This allows for all departments that employ shifts over 24 hours to appropriately select the event for Inventory Audit instead of using the Shift Change function for their mid 48 hour or 72 hour shift inventory counts. You can also use this function at anytime to conduct an Inventory Audit.
Because of this change, we removed the 48 hour Shift Change option and only allow a 24 hour Shift Change or Inventory Audit selection. If you had 48 hour Shift Change selected, you won't need do anything, we made this change for you online.
In order to see the new Inventory Audit
selection on your NarcBox, you will need to update each NarcBox v3 firmware to 3.17. See NarcBox Firmware Updates
for more info.
How To Use Inventory Audit:
Since the Inventory Audit Inventory Audits mirrors the Shift Change function very closely. See above.
At this time our NarcBox v2's will not support this improvement.
