Are your Tagged medications in good standing?

As new features have become available and each department/agencies are using our products we have been made aware of some items that could use some improvements.  Since improvements can take time below are some useful things to check on a periodic basis.

Where are my tagged medications?

Under your Medications section and RFID Tracked Items (seen below) press the "NarcBox ID" title column twice.  This will sort all RFID medications.  We are looking for those that are not assigned to a device or checked out to a person for a longer period of time.  If you have any medications not assigned to a device and/or checked out to someone, these will be listed at the top.

The top three medications you can see are checked out to a person.  Check the date and make sure its not too long ago based on your agencies policies.  Most will need to be checked in after only a few hours.

The next three medications are not located in a device.

Here are some common scenarios that we have come across with Clients that cause the problems above:

For the medications checked out for an extended period of time to a Crew member, you'll want to talk with that person to see what they remember doing with the medication.  One of two things could have happened.  They may have checked those medications out systematically and physically then placed them physically in the other NarcBox forgetting to check them in systematically.  Or they could have physically checked the medication out forgetting to do it systematically as well, and then physically putting them in another NarcBox forgetting to do it systematically as well.  To correct either situation, have the Crew member systematically check in the medications in the current NarcBox they are in.  Then be sure to sync the NarcBox.

Another scenario is that the Crew member checked the medication out instead of doing a Log Med Use.  In order to fix this situation you can have the Crew member check the medication back into the NarcBox it was last in (check reporting to find the NarcBox) and then do the Log Med Use.  The Crew member can also do the Log Med Use on the HQ Control Panel without checking the medication into the HQ Control Panel.  The last option is to do the Log Med Use online at https://narcbox.com/lmu.

Sometimes during an Audit or Shift Change, Crew members are going through things quickly and mark a medication as missing.  You can check the NarcBox that the medication was last seen in and see if it is still there.  Then do another Audit to show that it is in there.  Be sure to make notes in reporting on the report showing it was missing saying something like, "Crew member marked missing, but was still in the NarcBox."
